Clean Water Action is now accepting nominations for the prestigious David R. Gerraughty Award, named in honor of the long-time Clean Water Action program organizer and canvasser who chose protecting the environment and safeguarding public health as his "second career".

This award is given each year to one member of the environmental community who has made significant, long-term contributions to environmental and public health protections in Rhode Island over the course of their life and/or career.

Award nominees should be individuals who have an accomplished record of promoting environmental and public health in Rhode Island, serve as a positive role model for the environmental community, work to improve the position of environmental advocates in the state through advocacy and education, and exhibit excellent qualities of leadership.

Nominees whose contributions may otherwise go unrecognized are particularly welcome. Individuals may only be nominated by their peers and colleagues (self-nominations will not be considered). Current Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund paid staff are not eligible for the award.

To nominate a candidate for the David R. Gerraughty Award, please complete the form below by Friday, March 22nd, 2024.  For more information, please contact Rhode Island State Director Jed Thorp.

Thank you for your nominations!
