What Does Water Mean To You? Kids Art Contest 2010

Sea Turtle

Swimming turtle by Mary Patti, Winner

Congratulations to Mary Patti for winning our "What Does Water Mean to You?" Kids Art Contest!

We had over 60 beautiful and creative watercolor entries from artists ranging from 4-14, all with unique depictions of Florida water and ecosystems. It was too hard to choose just one, so we had a public vote on 11 finalists. With so many great works of art, voting was close.

At the end of the contest, Mary's painting of a swimming turtle received the most votes.

Congratulations also go to our runners up, Holden, for his painting of a spotted shark, and Andrew, for his bridge over water.

Mary will receive two day passes to Butterfly World, a great place to enjoy and keep up her love of nature and her design will be turned into t-shirts. Congratulations Mary!

And thank you to all our artists for your wonderful paintings and visions of our earth. Keep painting.

Your imaginations are what we need as we learn to protect our earth.
