EPA’s proposal for controlling industrial carbon pollution from new and modified power plants is a welcome change for our energy policy. Power plants are the largest individual sources of carbon pollution in the United States and, before this rule, there were no uniform national limits on the amount of carbon pollution that future power plants will be able to emit.
The Administration has made a common sense decision to protect our water and health from climate change and air pollution and lead the way to a clean energy future. The proposed rules are a significant and will help us fight off the worst impacts of climate change. But they are only a start.
Please take a moment to support the new emissions proposal today. Remember, as one Clean Water Action Board member has always said, “Climate change is water change.”
Coal ash – a dirty secret of the energy industry – is contaminating our water with toxic chemicals. Congress wants to prevent the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from protecting our health, water and communities from this hazardous waste. Tell your Senators that coal ash is too toxic not to regulate!
