Washington DC -- Today the House of Representatives passed the Great American Outdoors Act with nearly unanimous support. The bill now goes to the President for his signature, which is expected.

Clean Water Action President and CEO, Bob Wendelgass, released the following statement:

“This is a day to remember. The Great American Outdoors Act will boost our economy and begin to provide more equitable access to parks and open space for communities across the nation. We applaud Congress for passing this landmark bill and look forward to seeing it in action.

The past few months have shown just how vital it is that everyone has access to open space and parks. This investment will help create more access points to our existing public lands, and build more close-to-home parks and trails across the country. Providing full, permanent funding for LWCF will pay big dividends for communities across America.”
