As a member of Clean Water Action’s CT Energy Network, I’ve had the opportunity to learn more about state programs on energy efficiency and renewables, connect with other energy task force leaders across the state and share best practices that we can help implement in our towns.

Hi, my name is Flynn!

I’m an aspiring UX designer, high school senior, basketball player, business owner, and most importantly, a sushi-eater in the Austin Metropolitan Area. I have recently been hired as an intern by Clean Water Action to work on web content and national/state issues, and I’m very excited to be here!

On September 15, the Montgomery County Council held a public hearing on Council Bills 32-20 and 33-20, about moving beyond the use of plastics that cannot be recycled in Montgomery County. Clean Water Action submitted the below comments in support of the bill. To submit your own comments, click here!

UPDATE: After a public "town hall" on 11/5 Montgomery County is convening a working group on ZTA 20-01. Read more from our allies at the Montgomery Countryside Alliance here. We need to invest in local solutions to fight the climate crisis - now more than ever - but ZTA 20-01 isn't it.

Ballots are arriving in mailboxes across Baltimore City as we speak, and as a country we face enormous challenges and choices between now and the November elections. But whatever happens at the federal level, Baltimore will be more equipped to face it with leadership in City Hall that prioritizes protecting public health, dismantling inequitable city policy, working closely with constituents, and building community power. That's why Clean Water Action proudly endorses Franca Muller Paz for Baltimore City Council District 12.

A majority of Clean Water Action members tell us they’d be willing to pay a small amount extra each month to be able to get their electricity from clean solar energy, generated locally, near where they live.

There was a fire in my neighborhood (in Dorchester, MA) this week. I woke up at about 4:40 to popping sounds – wondered if they were fireworks (annoying at that hour but ok) or maybe gun shots (yikes). It didn’t sound quite like either. But quickly I heard sirens…lots of sirens...converging very nearby.

I am often asked: “Why are you studying environmental policy?”

This is a loaded question because there are so many different ways to answer it. The other day, however, I had a revelation.

If you're like me,  you are watching more cute animal videos during the pandemic than ever before. A lot of my favorites include animal mamas and babies, especially when mamas take heroic steps to keep their babies safe.
