In 2017, the legislature raided funds that are supposed to help the state, towns, and our communities invest in clean energy and energy efficiency. The next planned diversion of these vital funds -- $54 million -- is scheduled for June! This disastrous decision set us back on reaching our climate goals, resulted in layoffs and hurt our state’s economy. Together, we said ENOUGH!
We spoke with people across the state -- our teams went door to door, gathered signatures on-line and showed up at events over the past months -- and we heard an overwhelming desire to restore these funds. You and more than a thousand other people showed our Governor that we care about reducing energy demand and promoting clean energy and we want the funds supporting these programs protected!
We will be joining numerous other advocates to deliver the petition to the Governor on Friday, May 3rd!
