Clean water is the foundation for healthy & prosperous communities. While our nation has made significant progress since the 1970’s in cleaning up many of our rivers, bays and other vital water resources, we still face significant water quality and quantity challenges. Drinking water sources are threatened by pollution and overconsumption, and some of these threats are made worse by climate change.
50 years ago, someone had the idea that if we gathered together on a single day, we could show solidarity in our demands to protect and restore our environment, show strength in numbers, and gather comfort from being with like-minded people. Rivers were on fire, people were dying from pollution and everyone was being poisoned by the world around us.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22nd, Clean Water Action invites all parents and kids to join our Earth Day Design Contest!

In ordinary times, Clean Water Action sends out 2 or 3 fundraising (or fundraising-related) appeals each month. Most frequently, this is done by email. We may also call you on the phone, send you a letter in the mail, or (pre-COVID-19) visit you at home when one of our teams is out knocking on doors in your neighborhood.
