Monday, July 23, 2018

LANSING- Today, Clean Water Action announced its endorsement of Dan O’Neil for the Michigan House of Representatives.

“In his legal career, Dan O’Neil advocated on behalf of Northern Michigan conservation groups, and in his personal time he has been a volunteer and leader supporting environmental causes for decades," said Mary Brady-Enerson, Clean Water Action Michigan Director. "Dan O’Neil will be a champion on many important issues including increasing renewable energy in Michigan, ensuring that individual Michigan residents have standing to challenge conduct that harms the environment in court, and decommissioning the outdated and corroding Line 5 pipeline.  We’re confident that in the State House, Dan will continue to advocate for policies that protect the health of Michigan residents and our Great Lakes,” concluded Brady-Enerson.

As an attorney, Dan O’Neil served for twenty years on the executive board of the Michigan Association for Justice. He also represented northern Michigan conservation groups in their work with stream and river restoration and dam removal projects in northern Michigan. Through his long history as a grassroots activist and advocate, Dan has proved his dedication to fighting for our Great Lakes.

“Dan’s environmental priorities include fighting to decommission Enbridge Line 5 and ensuring that fossil fuel pipelines are never again placed on, under, or through the Great Lakes. This is the kind of leadership that we need in Lansing,” said Brady-Enerson. “We are proud to endorse his campaign for the 104th State House district and look forward to working with him as a legislator. The choice is clear – Dan O’Neil for Michigan State House.”
