Clean Water Action Endorses Dana Nessel for Attorney General of Michigan

LANSING- Today, Clean Water Action announced its endorsement of Dana Nessel for Attorney General of Michigan.

“The Attorney General plays a critical role as the public trustee of the waters and bottomlands of the Great Lakes. Dana Nessel is a fighter who understands the importance of this role. We know she won’t hesitate to stand up for our Great Lakes and hold corporate polluters accountable," said Mary Brady-Enerson, Clean Water Action Michigan Director. "This November, we are proud to stand with Dana to bring transparency and dignity back to the office of Attorney General,” concluded Brady-Enerson.

Nessel has been outspoken on environmental issues as an activist and AG candidate. She has pledged to begin decommissioning Enbridge’s outdated and corroding Line 5 pipeline as soon as she takes office, and to prosecute corporate polluters who damage our environment and threaten public health.

“Dana Nessel has spent her legal career as a staunch defender of constitutional rights, and has consistently advocated for civil rights and equality in our justice system. We trust that she will continue to be a fighter for Michigan residents and our Great Lakes as the people’s lawyer,” said Brady-Enerson. “We are proud to endorse her campaign and look forward to working with her as our next Attorney General. On November 6th, the choice is clear – Dana Nessel for Attorney General.”
