Clean Water Action Endorses the Promote the Vote Ballot Initiative

Tuesday, July 17, 2018

Clean Water Action Michigan Director Mary Brady-Enerson released the following statement:

“Ensuring that all qualified voters are able to cast a ballot is an essential part of our American values, and is of paramount importance to Clean Water Action’s mission of making democracy work for the environment. The Promote the Vote ballot initiative will ensure that all qualified voters in Michigan have better access to voting by making voter registration automatic, allowing no-reason absentee voting, mandating that our armed services personnel overseas receive their ballots in time for them to be counted, and allowing voters to register at any time. Promote the Vote will also ensure the integrity of our elections, by requiring election audits to ensure accuracy.

The sanctity and security of our elections has never been more in doubt than it is now. We are proud to endorse the Promote the Vote ballot initiative, and stand with their efforts to ensure that our elections are accessible, fair, and accurate."

Clean Water Action is Michigan’s largest grassroots conservation group with over 250,000 members across the state. Through direct advocacy and education they organize Michigan residents to protect the Great Lakes and our water resources. Learn more at
