Clean Water Action Endorses Rob Davidson for 2nd Congressional District

Monday, August 27, 2018

LANSING- Today, Clean Water Action announced its endorsement of Rob Davidson for Michigan’s 2nd Congressional District.

“As an emergency room physician, Rob Davidson has seen the impacts of poor air quality and contaminated water first hand. He understands the importance of protecting our environment and public health, and will fight for those values in Congress,” said Mary Brady-Enerson, Clean Water Action Michigan Director. "Michigan needs congressional representatives who are willing to stand up for the Great Lakes and protect the progress that we’ve made on environmental issues from the dirty water agenda of the Trump administration, and Rob Davidson will do just that,” concluded Brady-Enerson.

Davidson is running against incumbent Representative Bill Huizenga, who currently has a 0% environmental voting record on key votes that have been tracked for inclusion in Clean Water Action’s upcoming federal scorecard. Huizenga voted to remove stream and wetland protections, to fast track approval for oil and gas pipelines, and to make it easier for fossil fuel corporations to influence EPA’s scientific review process. As a physician who treats many individuals with chronic lung disease, and other environmentally caused diseases, Davidson knows how essential clean air and water is to one's well being.

“With all of the environmental challenges facing Michigan, we must elect congressional representatives who understand the importance of our Great Lakes, and are willing to fight for them. Rob Davidson is a fighter who will take his job as a representative whose state is surrounded by 20% of the world’s fresh surface water very seriously,” said Brady-Enerson. “We are proud to endorse Rob’s campaign for the 2nd congressional district, and look forward to working with him as a legislator. The choice is clear – Rob Davidson for Congress.”
