Over the last two weeks, the US House of Representatives has passed two spending bills that fund several federal agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which received increased funding. Clean Water Action released the following statement:

“Clean Water Action applauds House Members who voted to fund vital programs that protect our water and our health. These programs enable EPA and state agencies to do their jobs and enforce our environmental laws. Safe drinking water, clean rivers, lakes and streams, and clean air are our life support systems. It is the duty of Congress to ensure programs to protect them are fully funded. Now it’s time for the Senate to take up and pass these strong funding bills.”

Since our founding during the campaign to pass the landmark Clean Water Act in 1972, Clean Water Action has worked to win strong health and environmental protections by bringing issue expertise, solution-oriented thinking and people power to the table. We will protect clean water in the face of attacks from a polluter friendly Administration.
